Privacy Policy
This policy explains how "meowskin" handles information related to you. By using this App, you acknowledge that you understand its contents. This document is provided for informational purposes only and is not formal legal advice; please contact the developer with any questions.
1. What data we collect
- Content you provide: for example, images of ingredient lists captured via camera or photo library, ingredient text you paste manually, your profile nickname and avatar, skin preferences and custom alert ingredients, favorites, and scan history.
- On-device processing: ingredient recognition and dictionary matching are performed primarily on your device; the ingredient dictionary is bundled with the App.
- Purchases: subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed through Apple's App Store / StoreKit. We never receive your full credit card number; transactions are verified by Apple.
- iCloud sync (if you are signed in and it is enabled): your profile, favorites, and scan history may sync to your iCloud account via Apple CloudKit so they are available across your devices. This data is hosted by Apple under its own terms of service and privacy policy.
- Anonymous usage analytics: to understand how features are used (for example, which tabs are opened, whether scans succeed, whether the paywall is shown), we may send anonymous events through a privacy-focused analytics service (TelemetryDeck). This data does not include your name, email address, raw ingredient text, images, or anything that directly identifies you, and it is not used for cross-app or cross-site advertising tracking.
2. How we use data
- To provide ingredient recognition, alerts, favorites, and history features.
- To unlock features according to your subscription or purchase status.
- To improve app stability and the overall experience (including anonymous usage statistics).
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your ingredient-list images or formula content for advertising targeting.
3. Data storage and sharing
- Most content is stored locally on your device by default.
- When iCloud sync is enabled, the related data goes into your private Apple iCloud / CloudKit database.
- Purchase status is managed by the Apple account system.
- Anonymous usage events may be processed by an analytics provider solely for aggregate statistics; we do not share this data with advertising networks for tracking.
- Except as required by law or as necessary to provide the service (for example, Apple platform services), we do not provide your content to unrelated third parties.
4. Permissions
- Camera / photo library: used only when you choose to take a photo or pick an image for ingredient recognition.
- You can turn off these permissions at any time in system Settings; the corresponding features may become unavailable.
5. Data retention and deletion
- Local data can be removed by clearing scan history inside the App or by deleting the App.
- If iCloud sync was enabled, cloud copies may remain in your iCloud after deleting the App; manage them through Apple's iCloud settings.
- Purchase records are kept by Apple; restore purchases via the "Restore Purchases" option in the App or your Apple account settings.
6. Children's privacy
This App is not directed primarily at children. If you believe we have inadvertently stored a child's personal data, please contact us so we can address it.

We may update this policy. For material changes, the "Last updated" date on this page will be revised. Please check back periodically.
